UlsterCorps hosts MLK Day Celebration of Service

Members of the community were invited to join the Martin Luther King Jr. Day Celebration of Service hosted by UlsterCorps on Jan. 19 at Marbletown Multi-Arts (MaMA) in Stone Ridge.

Thanks went out from UlsterCorps to the attendees and honorees: Women of the World, Hickory Smoked, Blind Mice, and the New Progressive Baptist Church Choir and Dancers; sound engineer Jason Sarubbi; speakers Barbara Kortrey, Michael Raphael, Congressman Chris Gibson, Deborah Meyer DeWan, John Wackman and G. Modele Clarke; Ev Mann, who donated the beautiful space; the awesome team of volunteers from Community Health Corps who pitched in all afternoon; Susan E. Richmann for coordinating volunteers; Sam Magarelli for MCing; the awesome UlsterCorps Board for putting the event together and reaching out to the generous restaurants and businesses who contributed food and raffle prizes. Those businesses included: Stone Ridge Wine & Spirits (a case of wine for the raffle!), Creekside Acupuncture, Amy Moses LMT Massage, Mosaic Bodyworks, Lori Gross, LMT Massage, Green Cottage, The Bakery, the Big Cheese, Bread Alone, Creative Co-op, Frank Guido's Little Italy, Lekker 209/Oriole 9, Red Lobster, Shindig, Accord Speedway, Autotech, Elan Studio, The Bakery, The Eggs Nest, Hard Roll Deli, Rosendale Theatre, Starbucks, Texas Grill Steak House, Karma Road, Main Course, Olive Garden, Roost, Russo's Deli, and Shindig; Assemblymember Kevin Cahill for securing funding so volunteers could enjoy the celebration for free; and to every volunteer in Ulster County - thank you for your service.
