Local artist Mira Fink will be teaching a painting class for adults from 9:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. Fridays, Feb. 9 and 16 (with snow dates Feb. 23 and March 2), at the artist’s studio on Ashokan Road between Hurley and Stone Ridge. Some topics that will be covered include: choosing a painting subject, drawing for painting, composition, brushwork, color mixing, techniques for applying paint and more. Work from photographs or still life. Participants should bring their own materials. A suggested material list will be provided upon registration. This class is appropriate for absolute beginners to intermediate level painters. Note to oil painters: No turpentine solvents/mineral spirits can be used in the studio.
