Wired Gallery’s “Art of Everyday Objects,” the first-ever makers’ show, on exhibit through Sunday, June 2, features 28 local artists and artisans. The exhibit opens on Saturday, May 25, with a reception, sponsored by Stone Ridge Wine and Spirits, 5-7 p.m., at the Gallery, 11 Mohonk Road, High Falls. “Big or small, everything surrounding us has meaning,” said curator Erin von Holdt-Gilbert, a fiber artist, teacher, and one of the exhibiting makers. “What we wear, the cup we drink from, the quilt we sleep under, they all have an impact in our lives and the lives of the people who made them. In an ever more mass-produced world, I’ve chosen to be conscious about where the things I bring into my life come from to create a handcrafted home.” Exhibiting artists include: Danielle Bliss, Undine Brod, PK Brown, Jacinta Bunnell, Aditi Chang, Rachel Dubiki, Josh Finn, Zoya Geacintov, Jonathan Gilbert, Katie Grove, Cindy Hoose, Estyn Hulbert, Amy Lahoff, Lisa Layman, Jenny Lee Fowler, Paul Lowe, Cheyenne Mallo, Ruth Mckinney Burket, Cheryl Pagano, Cal Patch, Mor Pipman, Jasmine Redfern, Emily Ritz, Lora Shelley, Victoria van der Laan, Erin von Holdt-Gilbert, Jen Woodin and Jenny Younge.
