A letter printed the BlueStone Press from the BSP staff

Posted

Greetings, everyone. Many people in the community are stepping up, doing everything they can to help their neighbors, and witnessing those efforts is certainly a silver lining to a tough situation.

We're printing the paper. This newspaper in your hands, with every word made by your community, offers a connection to your neighbors, one that is tactile and intimate. Different from the stream on our phones. The BlueStone Press, this package of stories that are just about the towns we live in, can uniquely help members of our community feel connected. [See the list below with places to pick up the paper as of 3/20 edition]

During the crisis, when schools and libraries are closed, we will be providing the paper to more area households while we're all cooped up and feeling isolated.

About 25% of our papers are already subscription based, mailed through the post office, to area residents. During this crisis, we are offering additional mailed copies to anyone who wants one.

There are copies of the paper being added this week to food delivery bags the food pantries distribute, with a note about getting the paper mailed at no charge during this time of isolation. If you're reading this now, you can contact us for that service.

We are delivering to the markets, gas stations, banks and other places that are open for business. Kudos to our distribution manager, Joe Burton, who is committed to keeping the paper available.

To sign up for free delivery during the crisis, leave your mailing address on the BSP office phone machine at 845-687-4480 or email the address to bluepress@aol.com.

For the senior rate or the no-charge program, contact our office; if you can afford the full rate, please sign up on our website or contact the office.
