This community-generated festival, where participating shops on Main Street provide free treats, sales and giveaways while showcasing the best of local food, art, music and crafts, will be held 10 a.m.-6 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 8, in the town of Rosendale.

The Rosendale Library, 264 Main St., will host holiday stories for children at 10 a.m.; Rosendale Theatre, 408 Main St., will present a free screening of “Annie” at 11 a.m.; Town of Rosendale's town supervisor, Jeanne Walsh, and town clerk, Mandy Donald, will give out free “collectible" Rosendale mugs of hot chocolate behind Bill's Barber Shop, 369 Main St., beginning at noon, while supplies last; and the RosenSpace Winter Gift Craft Sale, behind the Big Cheese, 402 Main St., will go from noon-6 p.m. At 1:30 p.m., the Redwing Blackbird Theater will present "The Animals in Winter." Kids and adults who want to be in the performance can drop in to Redwing Blackbird Theater, 413 Main St., between 10 a.m. and 1 p.m. to choose a character and costume, then stay for brief individual rehearsals. At 1 p.m., the cast will gather for final talk-through while listening to the music and then go to places in costume to be ready for 1:30 p.m. door opening.

Contestants are still wanted for the Annual Mac & Cheese Contest at the Big Cheese, which will begin at 5 p.m. Participants can drop off their creations between 4:30 and 4:50 p.m. Town justices William Pape and Bob Vosper (retired) will be the presiding judges of the contest.
