“Joni 75: A Birthday Celebration” documentary

Singer-songwriter Joni Mitchell has captivated audiences worldwide and inspired generations of musicians. So, when the celebrated performer was marking her 75th birthday, a group of special performers, including old friends, collaborators, lovers and admirers took to the stage in Los Angeles last fall to sing their love for Mitchell. The special evening was captured in the concert documentary, “Joni 75: A Birthday Celebration,” to be shown, 7:15 p.m. Tuesday, March 26, at the Rosendale Theatre, 408 Main St., Rosendale. “Joni 75” features a powerhouse line-up of performers with Brandi Carlile, Glen Hansard, Emmylou Harris, Norah Jones, Chaka Khan, Diana Krall, Kris Kristofferson, Los Lobos with La Marisoul, Cesar Castro & Xochi Flores, Graham Nash, Seal, James Taylor, Rufus Wainwright and more. These performers pay tribute to the iconic artist, performing songs from all stages of Mitchell’s life and career, across her entire catalog of 19 studio albums. The performances took place over two nights in November 2018 by at the Dorothy Chandler Pavilion in Los Angeles. “Joni 75” showcases the entire concert, plus special behind-the-scenes interviews with the artists.
