Local artists featured at Fall for Art Fundraiser

The 22nd annual Fall for Art juried art show, sale and fundraising cocktail reception, hosted by the Jewish Federation of Ulster County, will feature 28 gifted area artists representing a wide variety of mediums, including painting, pottery, glass art, jewelry, fiber, wood and mixed media. The popular event, which attracts more than 400 art appreciators and business sponsors, will take place 5-8 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 6, at the Chateau, 240 Route 32, Kingston. Participating artists include: Paola Bari, porcelain; Janet Baskerville, jewelry; Sara Beames, fused glass/jewelry; Biti Besha, jewelry; Miriam Bisceglia, fine art/textiles; Kaete Brittin Shaw, ceramics; Sherri Cohen, jewelry, Judaica, silver; Joan Ensminger, fused glass décor; Stacie Flint, oil and acrylic on canvas; John Franklin, wood art; Alexa Ginsburg, felt soft sculpture and accessories; Madlyn Goldman, collage/mixed media; Glenn Grubard, paper cut fine art; Claudine Heller, acrylic on canvas; Nicole Jurain, pottery; Lorraine LeClair, jewelry; Louise Lefkovits, mixed media; Joanne Martignoni, watercolor; Deborah Mills Thackery, photographic textile prints; Billie Robson, mixed media; Sally Rothchild, pottery; Veronica Russo; colored pencil/graphite; Marysa Sacerdote, jewelry/metalsmith; Mitchell Saler, oil painting; Charlotte Tusch Scherer, mixed media; Nancy Vigna, oil, acrylic, watercolor; Christine Yates, graphics-mixed; Ron Zukor & Liz Horn, fine jewelry. Proceeds from Fall for Art support the Federation and local not-for-profit organizations, including the Hudson Valley Food Bank, Family of Woodstock, CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocates–for children), People’s Place, Angel Food East, and Jewish Family Services, among others. Each year a special recipient is selected, and the 2018 beneficiary is the Ulster County SPCA, which has been invited to select $1,000 worth of artwork from the show to enhance their facility at 20 Wiedy Road in Kingston. Art lovers and supporters have the opportunity to personally meet the artists and purchase their work.
