As per NYS guidelines, Lydia’s Café is now permitted partial indoor seating (50% capacity) in addition to patio dining and of course, takeout. In coordination with state and local officials, they have decided to try a return to quasi-normalcy by bringing back live music, 6-9 p.m. Saturdays on the patio beginning tomorrow, Saturday, July 18, with Jimmy Madison & Friends. Drummer Jimmy Madison has performed with luminaries from Lionel Hampton, Roland Kirk, Chet Baker and Quincy Jones to James Brown, Maceo Parker and George Benson. Madison will be joined by Tim Regusis on piano and Adam Coté on bass. On July 25 is the Shiri Zorn/George Muscatello Quartet; the Chris Pasin Quartet~Ornettiquette, Aug. 1; and the Pete Levin Trio with Jeff Siegel and Mike DeMicco on Aug. 8. “We will have tables set out on and around the patio (6 feet apart) for diners and are offering lawn seating away from the maddening crowd if you want to bring a blanket,” said Mark Usvolk, who owns and operates Lydia’s Café with his wife, chef Roni Usvolk. “Or you can sit indoors and enjoy conversing with your party.” Delicious picnic-style dinners and drinks will be available. There will be no cover charge for these events, however, generous donations to the musicians are much appreciated. Lydia’s has again expanded their hours to 7 a.m.-2 p.m. on Tuesday; 7 a.m.-8 p.m., Wednesday and Thursday; 7 a.m.-9 p.m. Friday and Saturday; closed on Sunday and Monday.
