The feature film, “Birthright: A War Story,” will screen 7:15 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 24, at the Rosendale Theatre, 408 Main St., Rosendale as a celebration and remembrance of the 45th anniversary of the Supreme Court’s decision on Roe v. Wade. A fast-growing radical movement is leading an aggressive campaign to take control of women’s reproductive health care and to encourage states, courts and religious doctrine to govern whether, when and how women will bear children. “Birthright: A War Story” examines how the anti-choice movement gained prominence and continues its work to roll back access to abortion for women in the United States. The film provides a startling look at forces putting personal choice at risk. Many nationwide organizations including the ACLU, the American Public Health Association, Amnesty International USA, Birth Rights Bar Association, the Center for Constitutional Rights, the Center for Reproductive Rights, Human Rights Watch, the National Abortion Federation National Advocates for Pregnant Women, National Women’s Law Center, Physicians for Reproductive Rights, Planned Parenthood, SisterSong and the National Latina Institute for Reproductive Healthare are standing behind this film and have pledged strong online and offline support and partnership for the release.
