Spirit Brothers Band morning of chanting in Stone Ridge

Experience a morning of chanting, poetry and music in the style of call-and-response kirtan including Sanskrit chanting and music from other cultures including sufi, Native American, gospel, 11 a.m.-noon Sunday, Feb. 25, at Marbletown Multi-Arts, 3588 Main St., Stone Ridge.  All are welcome to come raise voices together or to sit back and take it all in with Ned Leavitt, Joseph Jastrab, Robert Bard, Steve Gorn and Ev Mann. Leavitt is a seasoned chanter with a recorded chanting CD and a literary agent for spiritual books; Jastrab, a counselor, wilderness guide, internet editor and chanter/musician; Bard, a professional musician, sound engineer and studio owner; Gorn, an internationally known bansuri flute master, also plays clarinet and sax; Mann is a percussionist, composer and writer. He founded and directs MaMA in Stone Ridge and POOK, the Percussion Orchestra of Kingston, and has been performing with David Hykes and the Harmonic Choir since 1993.
