Winter Birds, bird watching in the Rondout Valley

The Town of Rochester ECC is hosting a free presentation about local birds as part of their ongoing Nature Series on the third Thursday of every month, 6:30 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 16, at the  Rochester Town Hall, 50 Scenic Road, Accord. Learn about the habits and behaviors of the birds in the backyard and hiking trails this winter. Scott Baldinger, leader of the weekly Tuesday Early Birders Walk at Minnewaska State Park, and photographer Mark Diedrich, leader of nature hikes at Honors Haven, will give a crash course in identifying common and rare bird species. They will have full color photographs and will answer all questions about birds. Great for novice and enthusiastic bird watchers alike! Admission is free. For more information, email ecc@townofrochester.ny.gov.
