Obituary - Frances Marian Cave

Frances Cave, age 91, born and raised in Lomontville, peacefully passed away on September 11, 2024 at Vassar Brothers Hospital with her family at her side along with the compassionate care of Hudson Valley Hospice and the caring medical team.
She had been under the care of Ten Broeck Center for Nursing and Rehabilitation (Formerly Ten Broeck Commons) in Lake Katrine, NY for the previous seven years.
Frances was born in Brooklyn, NY and lived most of her early life in Lomontville and Kingston, NY but also lived in Orange Park, FL, Redding, CA and Los Angeles, CA.
She is the former wife of James W. Cave Jr of Kingston, NY, daughter of the late Carl and Florence (Springer) Parand of Kingston, NY, and the youngest sister of the late Carl Parand of Saugerties, NY and Dorothy Snyder, 93 who currently lives in La Quinta, CA.
Frances is survived by her three children, eldest daughter Janine Ramsden of Marietta, NY, son James W. Cave III “Jimmy” of Lomontville, and youngest daughter, Vanessa Manpel of Louisburg, NC, grandchildren Kimberly (Ramsden) Papp of Orlando, FL, Ryann (Ramsden) Riefler of Marietta, NY, Sean Nicolosi of Wendell, NC, Caitlyn Nicolosi of Spring Glen, NY & her great grandchildren, nieces & nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews.
Frances lived in a different eral. As a young gir, she lived on the Ashokan Road in Lomontville, and walked through the woods on a trail to go to the one room school house on the Lapla Road. She was a kind hearted soul, who had compassion and love for pets and wildlife and was the inspiration for her son to turn the family land into the “Lapla Meadows Conservation and Wildlife Sanctuary”. She passed this love of nature and wildlife on to her children and others.
