Holiday Craft & Book Faire

Posted

Had enough of box stores and online shopping? Come make your own beautiful hand-crafted gifts and shop for children’s books at the Ashokan Center! Our wonderful elves (staff) will be there to help you in the Tin Shop (make an ornament), Broom Shop (make a wood-handled sorghum broom) and Blacksmith Shop (make a fire poker, heart-shaped trivet, or plant hanger).

Our performance hall will be transformed to showcase an incredible assortment of children’s books on the themes of music, nature, history, and art – curated by beloved librarian Robin Shornstein. Plus a rustic family photo booth with photographer Ovi Horta, live holiday musical offerings, and an array of tasty food for sale.

No cost to attend. All craft and food sales benefit the Ashokan Center.

Broom, Blacksmith, Tin, and Photo Booth will be first come first served. Arrive early to sign up!

Please bring coats, hats, boots, gloves to donate for our winter clothing drive! Many school kids who come to our field trips are underprepared. Thanks for helping us help them.
