With live piano accompaniment by Marta Waterman, Sunday Silents presents Buster Keaton in “Seven Chances,” 2 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 1, at the Rosendale Theatre, 408 Main St., Rosendale.
Keaton plays financial broker Jimmie Shannon who is nearly bankrupt. Things look up when an attorney presents him with his grandfather's will that leaves him seven million dollars. But in order to inherit all that money, he must get married before 7 p.m. on his 27th birthday. Seems pretty easy, but today is his birthday and the world appears to be populated by liberated flappers who would rather stay single. His luck changes when the newspaper tells of his coming inheritance. He is overwhelmed by eager brides who may not have romance on their minds.
