High Falls Pet Show returns! Live and in Pawson!

It’s time to bark, meow, hoot and holler with joy! The High Falls Pet Show, a celebration of beloved animal companions, returns, 10 a.m. Saturday, May 11, on 2nd Street, Sue Paterson Way, High Falls. The judging competition and prize selection will begin at 10 a.m. in the parking lot of the Community Church of High Falls on Second Street and will last until noon. This popular annual event is held by your friends and neighbors from the High Falls Civic Association. Pets of all sizes and shapes are welcome, from puppies to ferrets, from hawks to roosters. One single registration fee of $5 allows each pet to enter three competitions. Admission to the Pet Show is free. Vendor space is available in advance, with a preference for pet-related vendors, such as pet-sitting, grooming, animal food purveyors.

“The motto of the High Falls Pet Show is ‘Everyone's a Winner!’ The day commences with a series of ribbons bestowed upon all pets in attendance, citing their individual qualities and superlatives. The main competition, commences at 11 a.m. in the Judge’s Circle. First-, second- and third-place ribbons will be awarded in 10 competitive categories, Pet/Owner Look-Alike; Peewee-Size Pet; Jumbo-Size Pet; Whippersnapper (most youthful); All-American Mutt; Old Friend (senior pet); Most Unusual Pet; and Happy Days Are Here Again (best pet rescue story). All pets are the responsibility of their owners and must be leashed or in a suitable carrier.

The High Falls Pet Show is one of several community-wide events held annually by the High Falls Civic Association. The annual schedule also includes High Falls Fair Day in July and the Holiday Tree Lighting in December. For more information and to register a pet, visit highfallscivicassociation.org.
