h Arts and the Arts Society of Kingston are spearheading the reopening of the arts. The Ulster Duchess Arts Cooperative will be in the ASK Galleries in July and August, the first physical exhibit in the facility since the pandemic shutdown back in March. ASK, 97 Broadway, Kingston, is a multifaceted cultural organization that presents drama, humor, music and dance in its charming upstairs theater and monthly art exhibits in its first-floor galleries; the programs have been sorely missed during the isolation. The safety of the viewing public will be kept in mind. To make a safe viewing environment, new air filtering systems will have been installed in the gallery and visitors will be limited to 15 persons at a time. The Long Reach Arts exhibit is called “Elucidations.” It includes many types of artistic media presented by this diverse group, from oil and acrylic to fiber and watercolor, pastel and modern evolutions in photography.  Additionally, the exhibit also features written thoughts about the works by the artists. Artists in the “Elucidations” exhibit include Arlene Becker, Deborah Bein, Diane Christi, David Curtis, Carolyn Edlund, Staats Fasoldt, Stacie Flint, Claudia Gorman, Carol Loizides, Ellen Metzger O'Shea, Carol Pepper-Cooper, Marlene Wiedenbaum and Carole Wolf. There is also a new member show in the rear gallery. With this exhibit ASK introduces a new online component. So, isolate together at ASK, 15 at a time, recharge the esthetic battery and support the arts! This exhibition is free to the public. Visit askforarts.org.
