Marbletown’s Mark Gruber presents this three-person show featuring Carolyn Edlund, Linda Puiatti, and Staats Fasoldt of Rosendale running through Saturday, May 18, at the at the Mark Gruber Gallery, 13 New Paltz Plaza, New Paltz.

Fasoldt is a master watercolorist. With an emphasis on design, he simplifies form and edits as he paints. He makes it look easy but in each stroke is calculated the source, intensity, and reflection of the natural light. Fasoldt was awarded the Ulster County Executive’s Award for an individual artist in 2023. Puiatti’s ethereal, atmospheric landscapes in oils, inspired by her travels around the world, are born of traditional realism. Her large-scale paintings are meditative and encompassing. Nature, humanity, and emotion, the harmonies and disparities they provide are the foundation for Edlund’s chosen subjects. Through the power of light, color, and technical mastery, she celebrates nature and laments its fragile state.

Gallery hours are 10 a.m.-5:30 p.m. Tuesday-Friday, 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Saturday, and by chance or appointment on Sunday and Monday. For more information, contact Gruber at 845- 255- 1241 or markgrubergallery.com.
