Stone Ridge artist Christopher Seubert to exhibit at Stone Ridge Library

Draftsman, painter, printmaker and educator Christopher Seubert will exhibit a selection of drawings, watercolors, oils and prints, illustrating local landscapes, still lifes and portraits from Sept. 21-Dec. 21 at the Stone Ridge Library, 3700 Main St./Route 209, Stone Ridge. Seubert is an adjunct instructor at SUNY Ulster, where he serves as program coordinator for the Academic Travel Program, leading drawing-based study abroad programs to Europe (London, Paris, Rome, Florence, Madrid and Barcelona). He is the recipient of  SUNY’s Chancellor's Award for Excellence in Teaching and was awarded a Title III mini grant for program development in the Fine Arts Department at SUNY Ulster. He has participated in group exhibitions at the Metropolitan Museum of Art, the Dahesh Museum in Manhattan, and appeared in American Artist Magazine, and actively exhibits locally in one-man and group shows; he was also featured in the emerging artist show at the Samuel Dorsky Museum of Art at SUNY New Paltz and was guest lecturer at Historic Wheeling, West Virginia, 2014 en plein air painting workshop. Selected residencies include The Prince of Wales Foundation in collaboration with the Prince of Wales Drawing Institute and with the benefaction of trustee Christopher Forbes, at the Château de Balleroy in Normandy, France, 2000, and artist-in-residence at Platte Clove 2017. Seubert will donate 10 percent of any of the sales from the exhibit to the library building restoration.
