In their Third Thursday Environmental series, the Town of Rochester Environmental Conservation Commission will host a presentation on Green Burials aka Natural Burials, 6:30 p.m. Thursday, April 18, via Zoom.
Speaker Arif Khan will talk about Green Burials as an alternative to typical contemporary Western burial methods or funeral customs like embalming and the use of non-biodegradable caskets. It is an approach to caring for the dead with minimal environmental impact that aids in the conservation of natural resources, reduction of carbon emissions, and the restoration and/or preservation of habitat.
