Be spirited away at the 16th Annual UlsterCorps Zombie Escape

Kick off Halloween at UlsterCorps’ 16th Annual Zombie Escape, Saturday, Oct. 31, (Sunday, Nov. 1 rain date), at Fifth Lake Hudson Valley (formerly Williams Lake), 410 Williams Lake Road, Rosendale. Events include, 11a.m. 1K Kids Fun Run (free!), 11:30 a.m. 5K Timed Race & Zombie Escape, 11:45 am 2K Walk/Hike, and 12:30 p.m. Awards.

The Zombie Escape is UlsterCorps’ primary annual fundraiser, and a family friendly way to start Halloween while supporting a great cause. Enjoy the spectacular fall foliage and beautiful trails at Fifth Lake Hudson Valley, while passing zombies and other spooky surprises hiding in the woods and tunnels. All runners including kids will receive a themed race medal. Custom awards are presented in overall and age groups for the 5K.

All proceeds benefit UlsterCorps, a countywide, grass-roots non-profit resource dedicated to fostering a culture of volunteerism, collaborative work and community service. Since its founding 17 years ago, UlsterCorps has provided a link to service through spreading and sharing generosity – by facilitating collaborations among groups and by the placement of volunteers across diverse organizations and agencies. By coming together with local nonprofits, businesses, farmers, and people of all ages, UlsterCorps helps to increase food security for those in need, respond to emergencies, and much more.

Day of event registration will take place, 10-11 a.m. Pre-registration (by Oct. 29), $25 for adults; $20 for participants 17 and under. Day-of Registration for 5K Race and 2K Walk, $35 for adults; $25 for participants 17 and under. Team discounted rate for groups of five or more, pre-register (by Oct. 17), $20 for adults; $15 for participants 17 and under.
