This Halloweek, The Rosendale Theatre Collective and Century House Historical Society are proud to present an immersive experience in subterranean terror. Join the community, 7 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 28, in the Widow Jane Mine, 668 Route 213, Rosendale for a special screening of one of the most frightening movies of the 21st century, 2005’s, The Descent!
After a personal tragedy, Sarah joins her friends on a caving expedition in the Appalachian Mountains. But when a rockfall traps them deep underground, their adventure turns into a nightmare. As they search for a way out, the group discovers they are not alone, lurking in the darkness are savage, cave-dwelling creatures. With rising tension and dwindling trust, the women must fight to survive against both the predators and each other.
This screening is also part of the Rosendale Theatre's ongoing "WTF Wednesday" series, a monthly celebration of “Weird Cinema.” Whether it’s a deep cut, 80’s, Italo Horror movie, or a future cult classic from a visionary new director, each screening wondering “WTF did I just watch?” Tickets are $20/$16 members.
