Rosendale Recreation Commission Garden Swap, and Game Night, and Writers’ group

Posted

The Rosendale Recreation Commission will present a Tailgate Fall Cleaning Garden Swap, 10 a.m.-noon Sunday Oct. 18, in the Rosendale Recreation Center Parking Lot. Now’s the time to clean out those sheds before winter! Bring stuff to share like small tools, pots, planters, decorations, bird houses, houseplants, gardening book, etc., and mingle with the local gardening community. This is for free items only, no sales allowed, and participants must take home anything not claimed that they brought. This event is free and open to the public.

With the return of cool weather comes the return of Game Night! The first one of the season will be 6-8 p.m. Friday, Oct. 23, at the Rosendale Community Center. Bring board games or use those provided and share fun and laughs with the community. Light refreshments will be offered.

The Rosendale Recreation Commission announces the launch of its new writers’ group, “Shut Up and Write!” The program is part of an international community movement that offers writers of all genres, levels, and backgrounds a distraction-free, structured environment to work on their respective projects side-by-side. No critiques. No sharing. No pressure. Just focused writing time alongside others doing the same. After the session, participants can stick around to chat, connect, and build a writing community. The group, led by Walter “Snapper” Earl, will meet, 6-7:30 p.m. every other Thursday, (with the next session on Oct. 29), at the Rosendale Community Center, free of charge. For more information and to RSVP email clovebook@snapurl.blog.

All events are held at the Rosendale Community Center, 1055 Route 32, Rosendale. For more information, call the Town of Rosendale Recreation Office at 845-658-8198.
