28th Annual Spring Wassail at Stone Ridge Orchard

In celebration of the harvest, Hudson Valley Farmhouse Cider and Elizabeth Ryan, owner and operator of Stone Ridge Orchard invite the community to the 28th Annual Spring

Wassail, 2 p.m. Saturday and Sunday, April 27 and 28, at Stone Ridge Orchard, 3012 Route 213, Stone Ridge. Join the circle for traditional folk-style dancing to live Balkan and Macedonian Romani music and celebrate the coming of spring and the promise of a bountiful harvest with Zlatne Uste, Seido Salifoski and friends. Zlatne Uste Balkan Brass Band is a 12-piece group representing Serbian, Macedonian, Bulgarian, and Romani traditions. They are known for their production of the Golden Festival in Brooklyn. Seido Salifoski, a Macedonian Roma who has played dumbek in Balkan and Middle Eastern styles for thirty years, will perform with his group Cherven Traktor. World-renowned dance teacher Steve Kotansky will lead an afternoon dance workshop. Join Eva Salina for a Balkan Community Sing. Listen to the traditional a cappella polyphonic songs from the Bard Georgian Choir. Other guests include the Vanaver Caravan, who have been singing and dancing to world rhythms across the United States and abroad. Sing, dance, feast and pay homage to the new crop. Honor the farms and partake in local and artisanal food and ciders.

Per day general admission is $30, under 18, $15, and under 6 are free. Two-day general admission is $50, under 18 is $25, and under 6 is free.
