Harmony singing workshop with Phyllis Elkind at the Muse, Rosendale

Phyllis Elkind will teach a class in harmony singing, 1-3 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 12, at The Muse, 1 Madeline Lane, Rosendale. Elkind, a singer, guitarist, and teacher performs in the Sentimentals, a bluegrass trio, and in Bill & Phyl, a duo. She teaches harmony classes at the Jalopy School of Music in Brooklyn, taught Doo Wop singing for many years at the McBurney YMCA, and, in the Hudson Valley, has led harmony workshops for the Hudson Valley Bluegrass Association, for the Old-Timey Song Swap in Kingston, and at The Muse.

Cost of the workshop is $15. Participants will learn to sing the melody and harmony parts to classics from bluegrass and country music. All levels are welcome. Register at pe548@outlook.com.
